"Papers" received a grant from the Arcus Foundation, a national gay and lesbian foundation, to encourage connections between the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer) movement and the immigrant rights movement, using "Papers" screenings as an opportunity to create alliances, begin or further discussions about the intersections between social justice movements and organize together for immigration reform.
An immigrant rights and LGBTQ group can partner to host a screening of "Papers." The two groups would commit to each other to plan, advertise and carry out the event together (finding a location, sending out invitations, ensuring turnout, finding event volunteers, participating in a post-screening discussion).
If outside a college or university, the screening fee will be covered in full. If the screening is take place on a college or university campus, the screening fee is discounted to $250 with no restrictions on attendance. |
